Emma Doman Founder of Emma Doman Design

Emma Doman is an award-winning landscape architect with more than 20 years of experience delivering considered residential and commercial projects that reimagine the possibility of outdoor spaces.

A Registered Landscape Architect (AILA) with a Master of Project Management, Emma is a creative problem solver who puts client priorities at the centre of her design approach.

Emma’s thoughtful and thorough approach allows her to balance her clients’ vision, budget and aesthetics to deliver beautiful, functional outdoor spaces that integrate seamlessly with their interiors.

A truly passionate and dedicated creative, Emma seeks a level of design excellence, innovation and client satisfaction in everything she works on.

Joining EDD in early 2022, Violetta is a talented landscape architect with almost 10 years experience. With many of her creative interests overlapping heavily with landscape architecture, Violetta’s creative energy is perfectly suited to the values at Emma Doman Design.

Violetta is a highly skilled landscape architect- assisting in the many aspects of our design and documentation process. Violetta brings style and creativity to every aspect of our workflow and deliverables.

OUR PROCESS

  • We kick the process off with an initial briefing meeting.

    At this meeting we will discuss your project goals, site specific requirements, your budget, how you want the space to look and feel, who is using the space, functional requirements etc.

  • We undertake a desktop review of all the material provided- site plans, survey, floor plans and complete a full site analysis to understand your site, the conditions and context in full.

  • This is the creative phase where we look at all possibilities. Throughout this phase, we will be working through the best layout for your space and testing what can be achieved on your site in the budget range we have discussed.

    During this phase, we also compile the palette of recommended materials, finishes and a suggested plant list to support the project vision.

  • Now it starts to get exciting! We’ll issue you with a first cut of the proposed design- 2D and 3D so you’ll get a full appreciation of the design.

    Once you’ve had a few days to review the design we’ll meet with you on Zoom to take you through the design, the key considerations, some of the design decisions. We’ll also discuss the materials, finishes and plant species selection.

  • Comments and feedback are welcome. We request that you consolidate your feedback into an email or markup and send it off to us. We will contact you to go through your comments together and discuss changes to the design.

  • Once the feedback has been received and the design has been updated, the documents will be reissued to you for the final time.

    We then discuss next steps with you including contractors, engineering etc.
