FAQ’S

  • I’ve had the pleasure of working on many interstate projects, achieving great outcomes with my clients. In fact only a small percentage of our work is local- majority of our projects are interstate or further north. All our meetings are done by Zoom and all the work is delivered digitally via email. We’ve even done site meetings with Contractors on Zoom!

  • Our minimum fee for concept design is $4,500 AUD (excluding gst). This fee is applicable to small areas only - fees work upwards from this amount.

We quote each project individually based on the project size and complexity. Use the link on this website to submit details on your project so I can get back to you with accurate pricing and our availability.

  • We only take on a limited number of projects per year.

We select our projects based on compatibility with our philosophy and style. If you submit a project enquiry outlining all your project details we will be in touch to discuss pricing and availability with you.

  • The cost of obtaining advice from other professions or trades is not included in our design fees however we are happy to liaise and coordinate with these professions or trades as part of our engagement.

  • Once you’ve submitted an enquiry we would usually book in a quick Zoom session or phone call with you so we can get a better understanding of your project.

  • Depending on current workload, the timeframes for delivery are generally:

Concept Design- 4-6 weeks from the initial briefing session

Tender Package- 3-5 weeks from an approved concept design Planting

Plan Packages- 2-3 weeks from the initial briefing session

  • PAYMENT 01

To book your project into our workflow we require a 50% deposit, due on confirmation of booking. 10% of this deposit is non-refundable.

    PAYMENT 02

One week after your start date (1-2 weeks prior to delivery), you will be invoiced for the remaining 50% of the design fee.

Payment can be made by bank transfer or credit card (incurs a small surcharge).

  • YOUR FLOOR PLANS

Showing the current layout and any proposed changes of all the internals.

    A SITE PLAN

Showing the location of the house in relation to your property boundary and a north point. Architects/building designers will usually include a site plan in their set of drawings.

    DETAIL SURVEY OF YOUR SITE

This is usually a plan showing contours, spot levels, the footprint of the house, existing vegetation. It also shows the location of existing site features (such as walls or fencing) and underground services.

    SITE PHOTOS

If your project is a new build or you have a fully cleared site, these may not be required.

    INSPIRATION IMAGERY YOU'VE COLLECTED

You may want to share a Pinterest board or Moodboard with us or you might just have a heaps of images you've tucked away in a folder that you want to discuss with us. These are often a great indication of the style and aesthetics you are drawn to.

  • Of course we can!! We're pretty experienced at refining the brief and vision with our clients.

At the start of each project most clients provide us with a brain dump (and a heavily populated Pinterest board) and it's then our job to clarify and strengthen that brief and vision. Our very first meeting with you is a briefing session so we'll ask you all the right questions to help establish your vision and figure out what you need from your space.

  • You will be given a review period of 14 days after your draft deliverables have been issued. This is your opportunity to provide feedback or request changes to the documents. If required, we will organise a zoom meeting to discuss the feedback and our suggested alternatives before we update the documents and re-issue. If the feedback is straight forward, we will liaise over email to confirm all changes before we update the documents and re-issue.

If we don't receive any feedback from you in the review period we will assume there are no changes required.

  • Budget is a huge part of our process and we will discuss budget with you very early on in the process.

  • Not necessarily. If your site is in Brisbane we may choose to visit the site however we aim to complete majority of our work virtually/remotely. This means we can go ahead with appointments during storms, floods, lockdowns etc. It's a very efficient system that we love.

Should we choose to visit your site in person you will not be charged additional fees for us to do so.

  • Unfortunately it does. We have been burnt by this many times before trying to keep costs low for the client and just working with what site information they have or measurements they’ve done for us. These projects always result in changes being needing to be made during construction.

We are thorough in our process and accuracy is a big thing for us. Without accurate site information, we can’t do our job properly. The Survey is a non negotiable.

  • How you choose to go about the installation of the design is entirely up to you. We will chat about this through the design process. Many of my clients choose to DIY the install or DIY some components and outsource the components that require skilled tradesman. Other clients choose to have a landscape contractor complete everything. Once you receive quotes back, you may choose to DIY some of the easier components to reduce the overall cost of project. It's really up to you.

  • We are design consultants only- our area of expertise is design. You will need to engage a landscape contractor to assist with the construction phase.
